DC inverter welding machines use electronic inverter technology to produce a smooth, stable DC arc from a compact, light machine. Welders, fabricators and homeowners use them for gates, grills, roofing frames, steel structures and repairs. This collection includes stick (MMA/ARC), MIG, gasless flux-cored, TIG and multi-process inverters.

How to choose a DC inverter welding machine

  • Welding process: MMA (stick) is simple and works outdoors. MIG is fast for long welds. Gasless flux-cored MIG works without a gas tank. TIG gives clean, precise welds on stainless and thin metal.
  • Amperage: 160A to 200A machines handle common 2.6mm to 3.2mm rods for home and light fabrication. 250A to 300A machines suit daily fabrication. 350A and larger machines are for heavy industrial work.
  • Power supply: check whether the machine runs on 220V single phase or needs three-phase power.

Which welding process do you need?

For most home and small shop jobs, a stick (ARC) welder is the simplest place to start. Shops doing a lot of frames and sheet metal save time with MIG welding, and stainless and aluminum work calls for TIG welding.

Complete your setup with welding rods, an auto-darkening helmet and welding gloves.
