Acetylene regulators are essential gas-control devices that safely reduce high-pressure acetylene from cylinder pressure (up to 250 psi) down to a stable, low working pressure (typically 5–15 psi) for use with oxy-acetylene welding torches, cutting torches, and brazing equipment. Acetylene regulators in the Philippines are required equipment for metal fabrication shops, automotive body repair shops, vulcanizing shops, plumbing and pipe-cutting contractors, industrial maintenance crews, jewelry makers, blacksmiths, and welding instructors. Without a properly functioning acetylene regulator, oxy-fuel torch work is both dangerous and impossible to control — making this one of the most safety-critical components in any gas welding setup.
This collection covers the full range of acetylene regulators and acetylene safety accessories available at KHM Megatools — featuring the premium American-made Harris 25GX Acetylene Regulator (CGA-300) for professional and industrial applications, the value-positioned Procut Acetylene Regulator for general shop use, the Master AR-250 Acetylene Regulator for affordable daily-driver setups, plus essential safety accessories including the Procut Flashback Arrestor (Acetylene/LPG), Megatools FA288R Acetylene Flashback Arrestor, Procut Diaphragm spare parts, and Procut Valve Seat spare parts. Whether you weld brackets in a fabrication shop in Quezon City, cut steel plates in a vulcanizing shop in Caloocan, braze HVAC copper lines in Makati, or run an industrial gas-torch crew in Cebu or Davao, KHM Megatools delivers acetylene regulators built for the safety standards Philippine welders require.
Acetylene regulators in the Philippines span entry-level shop pricing up to premium American-made professional gear. Bulk and contractor pricing is available for fabrication shops, training schools, and industrial maintenance teams outfitting multiple welding stations.
| Application | Recommended Regulator | Why |
|---|---|---|

| Daily fabrication shop use | Procut Acetylene Regulator | Best value at professional-grade reliability |
| Budget setup / rental fleet | Master AR-250 | Affordable price, daily-driver functionality |
| Vulcanizing / cutting work | Procut or Master regulator | Suitable for general cutting flame requirements |
| Required safety upgrade | Procut or Megatools FA288R Flashback Arrestor | Stops flashback before it reaches the cylinder |
| Worn-out regulator repair | Procut Diaphragm / Valve Seat spare parts | Restores pressure accuracy without buying new |
| Feature | Acetylene Regulator | Oxygen Regulator |
|---|---|---|
| Maximum Working Pressure | 15 psi (must never exceed) | 60+ psi typical |
| Cylinder Connection | CGA-300 (USA) — left-hand thread | CGA-540 (USA) — right-hand thread |
| Gauge Color Code | Red (acetylene/fuel gas) | Green (oxygen) |
| Maximum Inlet Pressure | 250 psi (acetylene cylinder limit) | 3,000+ psi (oxygen cylinder) |
| Lubricant Compatibility | Petroleum-based oil OK | NEVER use oil — oxygen + oil = explosion |
| Identification | Cannot interchange with oxygen | Cannot interchange with acetylene |
⚠️ Critical Safety Note: Acetylene and oxygen regulators are NOT interchangeable. The cylinder threads, working pressures, and internal materials are different by design. Using an oxygen regulator on an acetylene cylinder (or vice versa) is extremely dangerous and can result in fires, explosions, and fatalities. Always confirm the regulator matches the gas before installation.
Yes — they are completely different and not interchangeable. Acetylene regulators have a maximum working pressure of 15 psi (acetylene becomes unstable above 15 psi), use CGA-300 left-hand-threaded cylinder connections, and have red-coded gauges. Oxygen regulators handle pressures of 60+ psi, use CGA-540 right-hand-threaded connections, and have green-coded gauges. Cylinder threads are intentionally different to prevent mismatching. Using the wrong regulator on the wrong gas is a serious safety hazard.
No — never. Acetylene regulators are specifically designed for acetylene's narrow stability range (under 15 psi). Using one for propane, oxygen, or other gases is dangerous because the internal materials, pressure ratings, and cylinder threads are matched to acetylene specifically. For LPG/propane torches, use a propane regulator; for oxygen, use an oxygen regulator. Note: the Procut Flashback Arrestor is rated for both acetylene and LPG, but this is a flashback arrestor (a downstream safety device), not a pressure regulator.
A flashback arrestor is a safety device installed between the regulator and the gas hose (and ideally also at the torch handle) that automatically stops the flame and gas flow if a flashback event occurs. A flashback happens when the flame travels backward into the hose due to incorrect pressure, blocked tips, or oxygen contamination of the fuel line — and without an arrestor, the flame can reach the regulator or cylinder, causing fires and explosions. Flashback arrestors are required safety equipment, not optional. Every acetylene torch setup at KHM Megatools includes a flashback arrestor recommendation.
Replace your acetylene regulator if you observe any of these warning signs: pressure creep (working pressure rises on its own after setting), inability to hold a set working pressure during use, visible damage to gauges, cracked or hardened diaphragm, leaks around fittings that don't seal with tightening, or any sign of internal contamination. Many Procut regulator issues can be repaired by replacing the diaphragm or valve seat (both spare parts are available in this collection) — but if multiple parts are failing, replacement is more cost-effective than rebuilding.
CGA-300 is the Compressed Gas Association (USA) standard fitting for acetylene cylinder connections — a left-hand-threaded connection that's intentionally different from the right-hand-threaded oxygen connection (CGA-540) to prevent dangerous mismatching. CGA-300 is the standard used on acetylene cylinders supplied by major Philippine industrial gas distributors, so the Harris 25GX connects directly to most acetylene cylinders you'll encounter in Filipino shops without adapters.
Yes, as long as the cylinder uses the CGA-300 valve fitting (the standard for acetylene). The same regulator works on small portable acetylene cylinders, mid-sized industrial cylinders, and large production cylinders — only the cylinder size and refill capacity change. The regulator itself doesn't need to be swapped.
Yes. The Harris 25GX, Procut, and Master regulators are designed to fit standard oxy-acetylene torch systems used throughout the Philippines, with standard hose fitting threads compatible with common acetylene hoses (red, B-size or 9/16"-18 LH fittings). If you're running an unusual torch system (very old Japanese or European setups), check the fitting type before ordering.
Warranty coverage varies by brand and product. Please check the individual product page for specific warranty terms. Regulator warranties typically cover manufacturing defects in the diaphragm and pressure mechanism; gauge damage from mishandling, contamination from improper use, and wear-and-tear items are typically excluded.
